TEXAS IS THE REASON S/T LP (TX30 Special Edition)
LABEL: Revelation Records
They came from some of the most popular, if not polarizing hardcore bands of the early â90s (SHELTER, 108, RESSURECTION), but by the time TEXAS IS THE REASON formed in 1994, a new aesthetic crystallized almost instantly and reduced its membersâ previous efforts to history. Indeed, it was only a year later, when Revelation Records released the bandâs self-titled EPâ their name derived from a lyric in the MISFITS song âBulletââ that TEXAS IS THE REASON were already headlining their own tours in America and well on their way to defining a new moment in post-punk. TEXAS IS THE REASONâs self-titled TX30 Special Edition 12â EP is the first of three upcoming releases that mark the 30th anniversary of the band and its landmark album, Do You Know Who You Are?. It includes the bonus track âSomething to Forget (Version I)â which was originally released in 1995 on a limited split 7â with SAMUEL. âSomething to Forget (Version II)â went on to be included on 1996âs Do You Know Who You Are? with a more polished production, thanks to J. Robbins (JAWBOX) producing the album. These TX30 Special Edition pressings will chart the bandâs three chronological stages across three intentionally-prepared 12-inch recordsâfrom their earliest recordings to their debut album to the bandâs final three songs, written for and originally conceived as the beginning of a second album that was never completed before their 1997 breakup. Each release will include expanded art and booklets featuring never-before-seen photos, flyers, and other means of telling the bandâs story. The three releases will be joined by specially designed obi strips, devised to create a visually cohesive set.
Track Listing:
1. If It's Here When We Get Back It's Ours
2. Something To Forget (Version 1) (bonus track)
3. Dressing Cold
4. Antique
