As supergroups go, you’d be hard-pressed to find one with a more diverse lineup than Dead Cross. Featuring Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton, founding Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, the Locust bassist Justin Pearson and Retox guitarist Michael Crain, the band’s 2017 full-length debut ground frenzied riffs, manic vocals and impossible beats into a visceral hardcore/thrash/noise mash-up. It’s a 28-minute blitzkrieg that seesaws from fast to faster, only hitting the brakes for a churning cover of Bauhaus’ goth touchstone “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.” J. Bennett
