SHABOOZEY 'WHERE I'VE BEEN, ISN'T WHERE I'M GOING' LP
Rising multi-faceted artist Shaboozey is building a world of his own, carving a distinct lane in contemporary Country music. Born to parents of Nigerian descent and raised in the small town of Woodbridge, VA, Shaboozey grew up on an eclectic mix of music encompassing everything from Country and Blues to classic hip-hop and R&B. A true crossover artist, he set the stage for the âModern Cowboyâ takeover in 2024. Shaboozeyâs epic run began in October 2023 with the release of âLet It Burnâ which quickly engaged audiences and caught the attention of BeyoncĂ©. The single organically led to Shaboozey being featured on BeyonceĂŹâs culture shifting album COWBOY CARTERâthe only artist with multiple appearances on the project. Shaboozeyâs latest body of work, the critically acclaimed Where Iâve Been, Isnât Where Iâm Going, debuted in the top five of the Billboard 200 and was praised by NPR for being âthe future of country music.â The albumâs smash single âA Bar Song (Tipsy),â made history as Shaboozey became the first Black male artist to reach the top of both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Hot Country Charts for multiple weeks. He also became the first artist in history to reach the top of the charts at 4 radio formats - Country, Top 40, Rhythm and Hot Adult Contemporary. The song is now the most consumed song of 2024 according to Luminate data, 4X RIAA-certified platinum, launched him to mainstream stardom and has become the âsong of the summerâ as described by Rolling Stone. With the meteoric rise of âA Bar Song (Tipsy),â Shaboozey and BeyonceĂŹ became the first Black artists to score back-to-back leaders in the Billboard Hot Country Songsâ 66-year history. True to his Virginia roots, Shaboozey aims to continue the regionâs long-standing tradition of prolific creativity, this time by expanding the scope of contemporary country and introducing the sound to a global audience. In addition to his record breaking run on the charts, Shaboozey had standout performances on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and was the first Country Artist to perform at the BET Awards in 2024. Shaboozey surprised audiences at Stagecoach and Capitalâs Summertime Ball, and shut down Nashville with his performance at the2024 CMA Fest. In the Fall, Shaboozey will embark on his SOLD OUT headline tour and has dates with Jelly Roll across America.
