MY MORNING JACKET 'IT STILL MOVES' 2LP - GOLDEN SMOKE
STREET DATE 6/25/21
Now back in print, the 2021 repressing features remixed & remastered audio pressed on two âgolden smokeâ colored LPâs and housed in a premium gatefold jacket. Remastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering, each track has an increased strength and clarity while retaining the albumâs classic shimmering grandeur.
My Morning Jacketâs breakthrough third release It Still Moves (2003) employs the horizonless grandeur of old school stadium rock mixed with country-soul, but it never strays too far from a special sense of grace. The album takes on a slow, grinding pace and ends up spinning into a southern rock and roll frenzy of soaring vocals and blazing guitar rifts. It Still Moves is compelling in itâs ability to build complex, skyscraping tracks that cycle in and out of chaos, usually trending towards a gentle, post-climactic letdown to finish things off. Produced by frontman Jim James and engineered by Danny Kadar, the album was recorded in early 2003 at the band's Above The Cadillac Studio in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
